The Meatpacking District Improvement Association (MPIA) is the area's 501(c)3 non‐profit businesses alliance, supporting the community through outreach and marketing. Founded in part to revitalize, redesign and maintain the district's seven public plazas along Ninth Avenue from 14th Street south to Gansevoort Street, the MPIA is the neighborhood partner of the NYC Department of Transportation in this effort.
MPIA's key goals are to improve the visitor experience and unite the community. A destination known for its nightlife, the depth of business located here ranges from fashion and graphic designers, artists, creative industry headquarters, food and beverage -- all of which have moved in alongside existing meatpacking plants to create a unique destination. Come discover what those who work here know – The Meatpacking District is an epicenter of activity both day and night that is steeped in a rich history, architecture and famed cobbled streets.
Every business and organization taking part in the event has donated their product and time, so that all profits will feed directly back into improving the neighborhood. Be it additional seating in the public spaces, to street lighting, evening and weekend security, to plants and trees, the MPIA needs your support.
